★★★★☆

Landice RTMs or rehabilitation treadmills serve a wide range of patients, from people with acute neurological troubles to world-class athletes in training. They’re a top choice among medical clinics, physical therapy centers, and personal trainers. However, their lack of preset programs makes them a less than stellar choice for commercial gyms.

Like other treadmills from Landice, the high-quality L770 RTM features a rust-proof frame, a heavy duty motor, and a softer-than-grass shock absorption system. Safety features include a stop key and medical handrails.

What We Like

  • Rehab-Specific Console – Landice’s RTM console is designed for the versatility needed in physical therapy settings. It supports a starting speed of zero mph and can be used to elevate the track up to 15%. However, unlike other Landice 770 treadmill consoles, it doesn’t include preset programs.
  • High Quality Treadbelt The Landice L770 Club Treadmill has a 20”x58” treadbelt to let all but the tallest runners reach a full stride. The belt is made to endure: with four layers and large rollers, it’s maintenance-free even with heavy use.
  • Incline – The track can incline 15% to provide more challenging workouts.
  • Powerful Motors – This model houses an American-made 3.0 HP (4.0 CHP) motor. The motor supports a high speed of 11 mph and can operate at top speed for 15 minutes without overheating. Additionally, the L770 RTM also has a powerful secondary motor for the incline. With 1,000 pounds of thrust, it provides smooth elevation and declination even at top speeds. It can support a user weight of 400 pounds.
  • High Capacity – The Landice L770 RTM Treadmill has a 400-pound user capacity.
  • Excellent Warranty – Commercial and residential owners of this cardio trainer get a five-year warranty on the frame, motor, and other parts plus one year of labor.

What We Don’t Like

Rehab treadmills just aren’t exciting. They’re appropriate for a number of settings, but treadmills in other categories – home, commercial, and light commercial – almost invariably have more interesting programming.

Our Verdict

The L770 RTM Treadmill is a very well-made fitness machine that can physically challenge a wide range of trainees. However, it has very simple workout modes and lacks engaging programming. It’s great for what it is – a rehab machine – but would leave members of a commercial gym disappointed. The next step up, the L870 RTM, has the same console but a higher weight capacity and a larger track.
