Sole F63 Treadmill Review (Folding)

The Sole brand’s first treadmills were commercial fitness machines. The manufacturer has always relied on top-notch parts, and this extends to its entry-level Sole 63 home treadmill.

What We Like

High-quality parts: Sole home treadmills include many commercial-grade components such as advanced cushioning and large track rollers. These help support the user’s health and extend the life of the machine.

Motors: The F63 has a 2.5 HP motor. It’s cooled by heavy-duty flywheels, so it’s likely to last much longer than motors with a comparable amount of horsepower. It’s also surprisingly quiet.

Track: The Sole F63 has an above-average track. The 55”x20” workout area is large enough for most runners. The track also inclines by 15%, which is more than many treadmills offer. By working out on an incline, a user can burn calories much more efficiently. Furthermore, the treadmill’s CushionFlex technology has been proven to reduce joint impact by up to 40% when compared with road running. This exceeds the impact reduction offered by many other brands.

Compact design: The F63 can be folded to save space, but a unique horseshoe design helps make the unit very sturdy.

Warranties: Sole warranties are among the best in the business. The F63 includes a lifetime warranty on the frame and motor, a three-year warranty on electronics and parts, and one year of labor.

Extras: A built-in console fan helps users extend their exercise time. Incline and speed controls are built into the armrests.

What We Don’t Like

It’s not easy to find fault with Sole treadmills. Of course, as with all other treadmill lines, the entry-level model has fewer features than the top-of-the-line machines. The F63 has few workout programs and a relatively simply display without audio or video capabilities.

Our Verdict

Sole treadmills are highly recommended, and the F63 is an excellent value when bought for under $1000. Its commercial-grade motor and cushioned track can support many years of use. However, this machine is intended for people who don’t need advanced workout programs, an iPod hookup, or similar entertainment in order to keep exercising regularly.
