Yowza Boca Review

Editor's Rating: 2.6/10

Note: It appears that Yowza has gone out of business so please beware that if you buy a machine from them that it is going to be as-is.

Recently updated, the Boca Professional Grade Treadmill by Yowza Fitness is their most intuitive and innovative treadmill yet. From motion controlled sensors that allow you to control your speed with the wave of a hand, to advanced Intelligent Weight Management (IWM™) Technology that works get you the most precise, custom-designed workout results, the Boca Pro delivers professional quality performance that you cannot find with other residential treadmills.

With Bluetooth technology, the Boca Pro features a powerful Fitsound Bluetooth speakers, and a wireless scale that works with the myLiveLight App to store your weight and workout data to the cloud using any mobile device. Talk on the phone, listen to music, control your speed, and maintain workout goals, all wirelessly and completely hands-free.

The Boca Pro is a good treadmill that does not cut corners on comfort or performance, and for $1,999, the price is competitive.

What We Like:

  • Advanced Shock Absorption: The Boca Pro features a brand new way to provide joint support. Swing arm suspension technology minimizes stress on the joints and reduces the force of impact by creating soft, controlled impact that is also more stable.
  • Console: Completely Bluetooth enabled, the Boca Pro comes with a wireless scale that tells the treadmill your BMI and weight for the most precise and personalized workout data and results. Using IWM ™, the Boca Pro is also compatible with the myLiveLight App that will store all data on the cloud, with any mobile device that you choose. The console also features two 3-speed adjustable fans, complete with air filters, and a built-in tablet rack.
  • Sound System: Presenting an advanced, wireless media port docking station that includes a USB charger and MP3 audio input, this state-of-the-art sound system also features powerful Fitsound speakers with Bluetooth technology. Stream music right from your favorite mobile device, all hands-free.
  • Touchless Motion Control: By simply activating the motion control button on the console, users can increase or decrease their speed with a simple wave of the hand. With built-in sensors on either side of the console, users simply wave a hand over the right sensor to speed up the machine, left to slow down, or place hands over both left and right sensors to stop entirely. This feature increases both safety and stability for users.
  • Motor: The Boca Pro features a continuous duty 2.75 HP motor that is incredibly quiet and durable. A continuous duty motor is the highest performing motor available, and means that the horsepower is maintained throughout the workout. With a longer warranty of 10 years, this motor is also a better investment.
  • Deck: An extra-long, multi-ply deck at 60 inches long by 20 inches wide is both durable and spacious.
  • Warranty: An incredible warranty, Yowza Fitness offers a lifetime warranty on the frame, 10 year warranty on the motor, and a 3 year warranty on parts.
  • Customer Service and Assembly: Yowza Fitness provides 24/7 customer service, free next day delivery and a 30-day money back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied with the Boca Pro.

Folding:No
Top Speed:12 MPH

What We Don’t Like:

  • Workout Programs: There are 7 pre-set workouts on the Boca Pro, which include target time, target distance, target calories, incline interval, speed interval and weight loss programs. In addition, there is a custom course program. While this isn’t bad, most treadmills offer more than 10; some up to 30 or more built-in workout programs.
  • Speed: Users can choose from 12 speeds with the Boca Pro, which is decent, but other treadmills at this price point can offer speeds up to 15mph.
  • Incline/Decline: An incline option from 0 to 12 degrees is a pretty good offering, but other top treadmills with similar design will also provide a decline option, something the Boca Pro lacks.
  • Max Weight: The max user weight for this treadmill is 330 pounds, which is a bit lower than many other treadmills with the average weight capacity at 400 pounds.

Our Verdict:

The Boca Professional Grade Treadmill by Yowza Fitness is a competitive treadmill with smart technology. However, if you aren’t looking for as many of the advanced, hands-free options of this console, other treadmills by Yowza, like the Daytona Commercial Grade Treadmill, are more inexpensive and also come with more powerful motors.
